Thumbelina 04:04
You're always walking You're always walking the other way I climb up the tall hills to see you get by to wave you goodbye, oh my love goodbye. You're always talking You only talk to the rain and the clouds They never talk to you, I'll see you go down See you go down, not so loud or proud. Now you're living with the moles. After swimming with the toads. 'Cuz your lilly pad wasn't strong enough to hold you up What bad luck, what bad luck. Thumbelina, where are you hiding in the grass so long? Been trying to find you, before the sun sets before I have to go home. Go home. So close to catching you

Knocking 04:56
I lie awake and plan for tomorrow I'll go into town and find a disguise to lose all those men in the crowd of faces I know Men beside dogs with their noses lower then low I'll plan for tomorrow I'll go and find the best old barbershop Shave and a haircut are well overdue now yes I lie awake and plan for tomorrow Mister how much for the hat and coat? How much for this gun and boat? Protect me and sail me away I hear the hounds barking again They've caught my scent, how could they? Assisted with tall well dressed men They're reaching for their pockets and I think 'let this begin' I reach for mine. Bang Bang Bang Bang All shots piercing my skin I fall into the river. Breathing blood and oxygen The water fills me up. Breathing blood and oxygen

about

Thumbelina E.P. is AKUDAMA's eighth installment of our ongoing Free EP of the Month series.
"Thumbelina"* was written by Blake Charleton, and came to fruition via some sessions done in the AKU rehearsal space / recording lab in 2009. The lyrics are based on Disney's Thumbelina character— a small girl the size of a thumb.
"Knocking"** is an old song which first appeared on our 2005 debut full-length "Flying Over Morning". Written and recorded while we were still in highschool, Knocking remains one of our strongest old songs, with Blake lyrics painting a haunting story of a thief in the 1800s. We thought it deserved to be revisited on this E.P. Enjoy!

about

AKUDAMA Brooklyn, New York

One day, a guava made love to a banana, and an avocado was born. Upon the avocado's first attempt at rolling, it was squashed. With the cracking of its pit came the most magnificent sound, so fiercely exasperating that it caused the banana to kill the guava, make a boat out of it, and sail to America to start a rock band called Acucumba... which sounds strikingly similar to "AKUDAMA". ... more
